Vote tally UPDATE:  See the comments section of this post for the vote tallies as of 1:06 p.m. on 10/19/07.

**************************

The nominations are in and it's time to vote for your favorite New York Blawg and New York-based blawger.  Voting will close on Wednesday, October 24th at midnight EST.  Although Sui Generis was nominated, I'm taking it out of the running since the contests are being hosted on this blog.

Also, I inadvertantly left out one of the nominated New York blawgers, so I posted a new poll which includes that blawger.  Only 3 votes were cast in the prior poll, and I made note of those for whom the votes were cast and will include those votes in the final tally.

Of course, there are prizes at stake, as described after the polls.  And, remember, you can only vote once!

Nicole,

Is there a way for us to see the current standings without voting again? I couldn't find it.

Mark.

Fix!

NBlack

Well, I'm not sure I'd call it a "fix". I sent an email to every blogger that was in the running. It seems as if some are doing an exceptional job at publicizing this contest, some have completely ignored my email and others are somewhere in between.

And, I sent an email out to high traffic blogs re: this contest, and a few posted about it, such as David Lat at ATL.

I'm not sure what else I can do on my end.

Any suggestions or assistance in getting the word out would be appreciated...

I demand a recount!

Sandy Hausler

I never received an e-mail from you. And Second Opinions isn't even on the ballot. Not that I think I'd have a chance of winning, but, you know, it's the principle of the thing.

NBlack

Hi Sandy,

The nomination period ran for one week and was announced on my blog. People were free to nominate their own blogs as well as other blogs and bloggers. The only way to be included in the contest is to have been nominated during that nomination period.

Sorry if you weren't aware of it, but I kept it open (and featured as the top post on my blog) for a week in the hopes that everyone would have a chance to view the post and submit nominations.

I found that by trying to vote again (in the name of science) I could view the current results.
